St. Martin VINELink Coverage
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's homepage points residents to a local LA VINE portal at stmartin.lavns.org. That portal describes a jail roster and lets you register anonymously for custody-status alerts. The local site goes down at times. So treat it as one option rather than the whole answer.
The VINELink Louisiana Person search is the steadier route. According to the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement LA VINE program, the system works with sheriffs, district attorneys, and Louisiana DPS&C to track adult inmates in parish jails and state prisons. Searching and registering statewide cost nothing and stay anonymous. A hotline runs around the clock at 866-LAVNS-4-U, or (866) 528-6748.
VINE participation does not equal a full St. Martin Parish arrest archive. Someone newly booked may not show up right away. A person released quickly, moved to state custody, or held by another agency can drop out of view. Juvenile and restricted records stay hidden. For a custody question, VINE works well. For how a case ends, the court is the place to ask.
Check a St. Martin Arrest
Search one person at a time. A name alone can pull up several records, and picking the wrong same-name match means alerts about a stranger. Add a DOB or another permitted identifier to confirm the match before you rely on it.
- Open the Louisiana person-search route and confirm that Louisiana is the selected state.
- Enter the person’s name or an available identifier. Avoid entering unrelated personal data.
- Review all returned matches. Compare DOB, ID, facility, and status when those fields appear.
- Open only the record that matches. Read its custody status and facility as a current system report, not a court outcome.
- If the result is missing or urgent, check the parish roster and call the St. Martin Parish jail.
The official VINELink Louisiana search is shown in the captured interface below.

The state custody-search page shows a clean entry point, with no photo gallery and no request for extra personal details. VINELink starts with custody status and notification. The parish recent-arrests hub is where the booking record itself lives.
St. Martin VINE Result Fields
Fields vary with the agency and the custody stage. Read each item in that narrow scope. A status can shift once the source sends another event.
| Result item | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Helps distinguish records; confirm a second permitted match field. |
| Custody status | Reports the status supplied to VINE, subject to transmission delay. |
| Facility or location | Indicates the reporting jail or state location, not the arresting agency. |
| Notification option | Starts registration for custody-change alerts on the matched record. |
| Release or transfer event | Signals a reported change; call the agency if immediate confirmation matters. |
| Charge or case information | May be limited and is not the final court disposition. |
| Photo | VINE is not a public St. Martin booking-photo repository. |
Facility, arresting agency, and court are different things. Breaux Bridge Police might make the arrest, the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center might handle the booking, and the 16th Judicial District Court might resolve the charge. VINE reports the custody leg of that chain.
Register for St. Martin Alerts
Register only after a confirmed person result. LCLE guidance tells users and agencies to verify that a phone number and email can both be registered. Keep alert details private. Update your contact information, and never register against a record just because the name looks familiar.
- Search and select the correctly matched Louisiana record.
- Choose the custody-status notification control associated with that record.
- Enter a phone number and/or email address for the preferred notification channel.
- Complete the application’s verification or confirmation step and any security choice it requests.
- Save the registration information privately and update it if the contact channel changes.
The application has a separate VINELink registration route. A browser may reach it only after a result or a notification action.

That page documents the alert workflow. It may require the state and person context from a prior search. An alert means VINE received a reported custody event. It is not a shield against every delay or data problem. If a release or transfer affects immediate safety, call the reporting facility directly. Follow an established safety plan.
Local VINE Versus State Notices
St. Martin has both the parish-facing LA VINE/LAVNS link and the statewide VINELink path. Neither is Louisiana Victim Outreach. Local VINE registration covers general custody-status notifications. LAVO and the Crime Victims Services Bureau handle added state-custody matters such as projected release, parole, sentence, facility placement, escape, and other victim-service events. The Louisiana DPS&C Victim Services page draws that line. It also describes a separate, confidential victim-registration process. Its form asks for contact details and offender information. It also collects parish or court-docket details, sentence information, and victim information. Registering in local VINE does not finish that state process. See the official victim-services source for the full breakdown.

That page marks the handoff between a general custody alert. The extra services apply to qualifying state-custody notifications. Louisiana DPS&C also says its inmate-information site updates every 24 hours. The site covers DOC custody plus community supervision. LCLE, by contrast, designed local roster redeployment to refresh every 30 minutes. Neither cadence is a promise that a fresh St. Martin jail booking appears at a set minute.
VINELink Limits After Arrest
VINE is a notification tool, nothing more. It cannot replace the St. Martin jail roster, an agency incident report, or a court docket. A brand new arrest may not appear right away. The jail has to send its data first. VINE will not spell out the facts behind a charge or vouch for how complete the booking record is. When someone was arrested in the last few hours and timing matters, the 24 Hour Arrests process works better, and a call to the correctional center settles any doubt.
Some custody situations fall outside Louisiana LA VINE entirely. Federal Bureau of Prisons custody runs through the BOP locator instead. Immigration custody has its own channel. DHS-VINELink handles immigration-related notifications for eligible victims, witnesses, and advocates, though it is not the St. Martin Parish feed. A state sentence, a federal transfer, an immigration hold, or an outside-agency hold can each push the record into a different system.
Movement after release creates its own confusion. A person released from the St. Martin Parish jail drops off the current roster, yet the booking record stays with the custodian. Someone sentenced to Louisiana DPS&C custody shows up through the state locator and its daily update cycle. A federal transfer points to the federal locator, not a repeated parish search. None of these shifts erases the original arrest record. Before assuming two sources conflict, confirm which agency holds the person now.
For direct answers, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office main line is (337) 394-3071. Louisiana DPS&C lists the correctional center at 400 St. Martin Street, St. Martinville, LA 70582, phone (337) 394-2500. A time-sensitive release or transfer deserves a call to the facility, not an old screen.
Note: Keep your registration details private, and call 911 for any emergency in progress instead of using an app, roster, or alert service.
